What I've Loved Recently List

Happy Valentine's day!
I feel like I've been seeing tons of these posts lately and I felt like it could be fun to do one myself as well. Since it's Thursday and the weekend is almost here most people are gonna have more free time and usually want something to do so if you're in need of something to listen/watch/read, continue reading.

Fyre Festival
I'm sure I'm not the first one to mention this documentary. But it's just really entertaining. I honestly don't remember when the whole thing happened, it was probably viral on social media but I swear to God I don't remember ever hearing about it. I've been hearing about the Netflix documentary so when it was suggested to me, I thought I'd watch it and I loved it. Definitely recommend it.

Big Mouth's Valentine's day special
If you've watched Big Mouth then I'm sure you've already watched this one but if you've never watched Big Mouth then binge watch this weekend and if you work hard enough you might get to the Valentine's day special in time. I know Valentine's day is today but still, if you watch it a couple of days late you'll still be in the mood for it.

Loey Lane
I don't quite remember what I was watching when her video about Dear David popped up on the recommended list. I had never heard of Dear David even though Adam Elis is one of my favourite illustrators. I was never really into supernatural and paranormal stuff, it kinda scares the crap out of me but Loey's videos are so addictive, definitely give them a watch even if you don't like this kind of stuff because I didn't either and look at me now.

If you like music then chances are you probably have one or more playlists made and catered to your taste but if you're looking for something new I definitely recommend following me on Spotify. My music taste has lots of pop/on the radio all the time kind of songs but sometimes I do add some not so known songs or artists that you may like. Not only that, I have a playlist full of Portuguese artists and most of them do sing in Portuguese but some others don't and you may actually like them. Look for me on Spotify: marta_ribeiro.96

I'm gonna be honest with you, I literally typed "best podcasts on Spotify" on Google and after reading a few articles I had a pretty big list of podcasts to listen to. Over time I ditched a few and at the moment I have a couple of favourites. First of all, probably the most famous one of all time, Serial. If you haven't listened to it, which I find strange, go and listen. I prefer the first season, the second one I have to say, I didn't finish it. I've heard good things about the third one and it's definitely a priority, I'll tell you what I thought of it when I finish. You can hear it on the official website https://serialpodcast.org/. If you're into stuff like that Dr. Death is also a good one and you can find it on Spotify. It's about a doctor whose patients had a few complications after the treatment and how they didn't get much help from a system set to protect the doctors more than the patients. If you're into funny podcats then I think you'll like All Fantasy Everything, also available on Spotify. The best way I can explain it is you know how in fantasy football people pick their teams hoping that the players they picked do a good job? It's basically like that but with different things. Like, for instance, if you listen to it from the beginning, the second episode is about sandwiches. The host and the guests of the podcast pretty much pick a "team" of sandwiches and then the listeners vote on who had the best team. It may sound like a "how the heck did they even think of this" kind of concept but it's actually pretty funny and if you don't really understand the concept which I didn't either when I first read the description, give it a listen and you'll soon understand.

Free Books
Ever heard of project Gutenberg? It's basically an online library where you can find over 58000 free ebooks. If you don't really feel like going out, spend an awful amount of time looking for a book you may like by reading the description in the back and then settling for one you're not quite sure about and leave the book store with "You" in mind and hope your life doesn't become anything like the Netflix show then this website is the way to go. I'm sure you'll find something you like in there.

Blog Posts
I've tried to gather a few interesting blog posts this week for you to read and I found a couple. This post by Mediamarmalade talks about how being in a group of peers gets you exposure and invitations and how the people you hang out with dictate a lot about how your career goes. This post by Alicia Tenise discusses how her content has changed over the years and how she doesn't consider herself a fashion blogger anymore. I relate to it a lot and advice you to read the post because I feel the same as she does and if you're an avid reader I think you can tell. If you feel crafty you might try some of the diys from A Beautiful Mess. And if you're in the mood for love, Sensible Stylista did this post filled with quotes on love.

Comfy Underwear
What's a good weekend without comfy and cute underwear? Luckily, Tezenis has super cute new collections. I never cared much about my underwear but I think it's an addiction now. I love cute underwear and I have so many bralettes I think it's time to stop but that's unlikely to happen so, there's that haha I haven't tried these new things but I really want to and I already know Tezenis is a great place for cute underwear with a small price tag. The quality isn't comparable to other more expensive brands obviously, but I feel like with underwear you never really win because it's washed so often that I honestly prefer to not spend a lot of money on it if it's gonna get ruined anyways after a while, but that's my opinion. Do you know those primers that you can use by themselves without any concealer or foundation on top in a day that you don't really feel like putting on makeup but you still want your skin to look good? The Flormar Mattifying Primer is just that. I was kinda scared to try it because I have combination skin but it works beautifully, even better than the pore minimizing one. It keeps my skin matte all day and my pores disappear and it doesn't dry my skin if I use a moisturizer underneath. I definitely recommend it.

A good weekend or day off needs a good snack and lately, I've been obsessed with Milka's Choco Wafers. They're so delicious! They have ones with milk chocolate and white chocolate, I personally love both and couldn't possibly pick one. They're not the healthiest but it's not a crime to have one or two once in a while, right?

I hope you're having a great day,
Marta Ribeiro xx
