How to Prepare for Bare Skin

by - June 08, 2016

The weather is getting hotter and you're already dreaming of those dresses, skirts and shorts waiting for you in your closet. But there's a little problem. Your legs will be bare the whole time.
You know society has taught women that we shouldn't have any body hair while men don't have to worry about that. But it's not all bad. I see it in a more positive way. I like having silky smooth legs. And I think you should too. Let's show society that their plan of making us feel ashamed about natural things backfired. Let's enjoy it! For ourselves and never to please anyone.

Get Rid of the Hairs
How to get rid of the hairs. There are many ways you can do that. Waxing, shaving, laser, the options are endless. You just have to pick the one you feel the most comfortable with and also the one that is safer for you. Laser is usually not recommendable because it can have awful consequences on your skin. Waxing can hurt a lot. And shaving can leave your skin dry and let's not forget the cuts, if you're not careful enough. But there are good things about these methods as well. Laser is more effective and it doesn't hurt. Waxing lasts longer than shaving. And shaving is quick and easy and doesn't hurt (unless you cut yourself but that's unlikely). My advice would be to try all the methods that you can and then decide for yourself which one is your favourite. I also recommend talking to a dermothologist to find out what's the best for you.

Take Care of Your Skin
Your skin is the biggest organ in your body. And it's the organ that is more attacked because it's on the outside. So you have to take really good care of it, you're gonna live with it for the rest of your life. Don't forget sunscreen, specially if you decide to go for laser hair removal. A moisturizer is also extremely important. Everytime you shower, apply it everywhere you removed hairs and you can even reapply throughout the day to keep your skin super healthy.

Those Little Hairs
There are always little hairs that get stuck or that are harder to come off or ingrown hairs. The best way to get rid of them is by using a body scrub. You can buy one or you can make one at home with a bit of honey, any oil (olive oil, coconut oil, etc.) and sugar. Use it everytime you remove hairs and your skin will not only be smoother, it will also prevent ingrown hairs.

Sensitive Areas
You have to be very careful in sensitive areas. Usually those areas are your pubes and your groin so whatever method of hair removal you decided to pick, be extra careful in those areas. If you go for laser, whoever does it to you will know. If you decide to go for waxing, there are wax strips/special wax for those areas so don't use regular wax/wax strips. If you pick shaving, there also special razors and shaving foams/creams for those specific areas.

And that's pretty much it. Any doubts you might have please leave in a comment below and I'll make sure I'll answer them. Don't forget that the best way to have healthy silky smooth skin is to contact a dermathologist, this post is just informative.

I hope you're having a great day,
